Meet the newest member of our Veterinary Assistant Team!

We are thrilled to introduce the newest and undoubtedly most adorable member of the SoCal ROC Team, Pochita! At just 1.5 years old, Pochita is a Dogo Argentino rescue with a heart as big as her paws. Though she was originally trained to be a service dog, her incredibly friendly nature made her a better candidate for a different kind of service: being our beloved class mascot and teaching assistant!

Pochita plays a pivotal role in Ms. Cachu's Veterinary Assisting classes, where she helps students practice essential skills. Whether it’s learning how to properly restrain a pet, examining cytologies (Pochita has allergies, so her ear swabs are often under the microscope), or observing behaviors common in veterinary hospitals, Pochita is there, wagging her tail and offering her unconditional support. Her friendly demeanor and willingness to participate make her an invaluable teaching assistant.

Not only is Pochita a fantastic learning aid, but she also brings a lot of joy to everyone she meets. She is always ready to brighten anyone's day with her playful antics and her love for treats. Pochita takes her role at SoCal ROC very seriously, even if it involves a bit of slobber and a lot of tail wagging. Welcome, Pochita!
