Director of Secondary Education/Principal

Under the supervision of the Superintendent, the Director of Secondary Education/Principal is responsible for all areas addressing the needs of SoCal ROC “Center” high school students, including but not limited to developing a master schedule of Center high school courses, coordinating student registration procedures for Center classes, performing certificated and classified evaluations, coordinating campus security program, enforcing student behavior standards, coordinating student recognition programs, coordinating programs for transitional needs students, working with Curriculum and Instruction Leaders, other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works directly with instructional staff to ensure curricular and instructional excellence
  • Responsible for WASC accreditation process
  • Works directly with curriculum and Instruction Leaders in program planning and budget development
  • Performs certificated and classified evaluations
  • Involved in interview panels and makes hiring recommendations for certificated and classified personnel
  • Coordinates campus security program and acts as liaison with local law enforcement agencies
  • Coordinates SoCal ROC Student Orientation Program
  • Provides support to certificated staff in data analysis and review of other pertinent information in regard to program revision and new programs for consideration
  • Prepares and monitors budgets as necessary
  • Coordinates special events and programs such as Career Days, Student Activities, and student displays
  • Attends Board of Education Meetings and prepares and presents information as appropriate
  • Assists in staff development planning and implementation
  • Conducts student and parent conferences as appropriate in matters related to assuring a safe, clean, relevant, and caring environment in which to learn
  • Assists in determining additional course needs and makes recommendations regarding new courses
  • Establishes collaborative partnerships between SoCal ROC and JPA Districts
  • Keeps abreast of latest educational research as it pertains to ROC programming
  • Represents SoCal ROC at various conferences, seminars, meetings as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent

Schedule: FULL-TIME / 2022 – 2023 SCHOOL YEAR – 10 Hours TBD, Monday – Thursday
