Function: Instructor shall prepare students to receive entry-level training as a Phlebotomist in a lab, hospital or physician’s office.

Prepare student to be able to demonstrate the following skills and/or knowledge necessary for Phlebotomy competencies with emphasis on explaining the general practice of phlebotomy, communications skills, knowledge of ethical behavior and legal implications, basic understanding of physiologic aspects, safety and infection control considerations, preparation of supplies and equipment, venipuncture and skin puncture procedures, knowledge of potential complications and their prevention, specialized specimen collection procedures, age specific considerations, and problem-solving skills.

Schedule: 2015/2016 SCHOOL YEAR / Part-Time, Monday – Thursday, Hours TBD; 10 week sessions
